Who We Are
Who We Are
Our Mission
To advocate for improved welfare and medical support for retired military personnel in Sierra Leone, while providing direct assistance to veterans and their families in times of need.
Our Vision
A future where every retired Sierra Leonean service member lives with dignity, access to healthcare, and recognition they deserve for their service.
Our Values
Honor: We uphold the dignity and sacrifice of all service members
Compassion: We serve with empathy for those in need.
Solidarity: We stand together, at home and in the diaspora, as one military family.
Integrity: We are committed to transparency, and responsible stewardship of all resources entrusted to us.
Our History
SLESAO was founded by a group of retired Sierra Leonean military personnel in the diaspora who recognized the urgent challenges facing their challenges at home. Many veterans live without adequate medical care, welfare support, or recognition of their service.
Since its founding, SLESAO has:
Advocated for improved conditions for veterans in Sierra Leone.
Provided medical and welfare support for retired personnel in crisis.
Launched food assistance programs for veterans and their families during holidays.
Built partnerships with individuals and organizations committed to supporting veterans.
