How Your Support Helps
The retired men and women of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces secured our peace. Now, it is our turn to secure their future. The Sierra Leone Ex-Service Personnel Association Overseas (SLESAO) works diligently to provide direct assistance, dignity, and a pathway to self-reliance for retired and struggling veterans.
By appealing to our shared sense of humanity and gratitude, we can help ensure that those who sacrificed for their nation do not face poverty, hunger, or neglect in their later years. Every contribution is a concrete step toward honoring their service.
Why Your Support Matters
SLESAO's mission is to diligently provide direct financial assistance, vocational training, and welfare support to retired and struggling members of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).
100% of funds are directed to the essential activities:
1. Make a Financial Donation
Financial contributions are the most flexible and impactful way to support SLESAO's work, allowing the association to allocate funds where the need is most urgent—whether it’s for immediate food distribution, financial assistance or for medical emergencies.
2. Organize a Goods Drive
You can directly support the welfare of veterans by gathering and donating essential items:
Food: Organize a drive for non-perishable staples like rice, cooking oil, canned goods, and other nutritional items to stock the next food distribution project.
Clothing: Collect new or gently used clothing for donation to the organization.
3. Monthly Giving
Become a Veterans champion by committing ongoing support.
Partner with us to provide food, medical supplies, or other resources.
4. Matching Gifts
Check if your employer will match your donation to SLESAO and double your impact.
5. Volunteer Your Skills
If you have expertise in areas like financial planning, business development, vocational training, or logistics, contact SLESAO to see how your skills can empower a veteran's journey to self-reliance.
They took care of us during times of conflict. Let us show them the full depth of our gratitude now, in peacetime.
